Cedar Tree
I'm standing as tall as I can
Stretching to reach the sky
It's been a cold, windy, icy winter
The snow has covered me from head to toe.
I can feel the sun high above
Shimming down, warming my limbs.
Water crystals are starting to form, dripping to the ground.
A squirrel clammiers up my trunk running to and fro
His movements loosen giant clumps of snow.
They fall off and expose my limbs to the fresh clean air.
Nighttime comes.
With it a storm dumping more snow and ice
The wind chill is so cold
It's freezing me
All of my branches are pulling down
Until my head touches the ground
OH the weight of all this snow and ice
It's almost to much to bare
My friends are snapping off right and left
Can I make it to the morn?
When the sun will perhaps come out in force
Free me of this load
So I can once again rise up
Dawn approaches
Something is hitting me
It's a deer frolicking in the snow
He is my salvation
For in his play he's knocking the snow off me
UP I will come Wheeeee!
Now I am FREE to once again STAND TALL
